About Us
Mareeba and Communities Family Healthcare (MCFHC), was established in 2020 with a vision to improve access to quality health services through a community owned social enterprise model. We aim to transform health outcomes for individuals and communities in the Mareeba Shire by delivering an integrated, multidisciplinary primary healthcare service, that is tailored to the needs of our community.
MCFHC has several key entities, each playing a vital role in delivering health services and support. Within MCFHC, the Mareeba Medical Clinic provides comprehensive healthcare services to individuals and families, ensuring accessible and quality medical care. The Black Cockatoo Foundation focuses on community engagement, health promotion and education, fostering local partnerships to empower residents and raise awareness about critical health issues. Additionally, The Mareeba Health Workforce Alliance is committed to developing a sustainable healthcare workforce by offering training, scholarships and professional development opportunities tailored to meet the unique needs of the Mareeba region. Together, these elements work together to form MCFHC to create an integrated, sustainable and responsive healthcare system that reflects the priorities and aspirations of our community.
